1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use Travel.Mind:

• Location data — collected only while the App is actively in use, to identify nearby points of interest and generate relevant stories.
• Camera images — captured temporarily when using the scan feature to identify landmarks or artworks. Images are processed and not stored permanently.
• Device information — including device model, operating system version, and a unique device identifier, used for analytics and app diagnostics.
• Usage data — anonymous data about how you interact with the App (screens visited, features used), used to improve the user experience.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily provide it (e.g., when contacting support).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To provide the core functionality of the App, including nearby story discovery and landmark scanning
• To improve and optimize the App's performance and user experience
• To diagnose technical issues and fix bugs
• To understand usage patterns and develop new features
• To respond to support requests when you contact us

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating and improving the App.

3. Location Data

Travel.Mind requests access to your device's location services to identify nearby points of interest. Location data is:

• Collected only while the App is in active use ("when in use" permission)
• Used solely to fetch nearby stories and points of interest
• Not stored on our servers beyond the duration of each session
• Never shared with advertising networks or data brokers

You can revoke location access at any time in your device's Settings app. Revoking location access will disable nearby story discovery.

4. Camera Access

The "Scan to Discover" feature requires camera access to identify landmarks and artworks. When you use this feature:

• Images are captured and sent securely to our servers for landmark identification
• Images are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers after processing
• No image data is linked to your identity or retained in any database

Camera access can be revoked at any time via your device settings, which will disable the scanning feature.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share limited data in the following circumstances:

• Service providers — we work with third-party services (such as mapping APIs and cloud infrastructure providers) that process data on our behalf, under strict data processing agreements.
• Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process.
• Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. Data Storage and Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) and secure server infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

We retain data only for as long as necessary to provide the service or as required by applicable law. Anonymous usage analytics may be retained for up to 24 months for product improvement purposes.

7. Children's Privacy

Travel.Mind is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at app.travel.mind@gmail.com and we will take steps to remove that information.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — the right to request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction — the right to request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion — the right to request deletion of your data
• Portability — the right to receive your data in a portable format
• Objection — the right to object to certain types of data processing

9. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services that may collect data independently according to their own privacy policies. These include mapping and geolocation providers. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with.

10. Cookies and Tracking

Travel.Mind is a mobile application and does not use browser cookies. We may use anonymous device identifiers for analytics purposes. These identifiers are not linked to your personal identity and can be reset through your device settings.

11. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your country. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any such transfers.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
